Just had retro fit to W211 as normal no manuals.
The system seems easy to use so do i really need a manual?
If so which one?
Any help appriciated

I had a quick look through the manuals but really all you need to do is pull the stick and ask for "help" and she will tell all.
I find it is most useful for phone and sat-nav but I believe it recognises over 300 commands.
It takes a bit of getting used to but it is great for posing
Doesn't support the MP3 player though :(

Most of the Voice commands are generally recognised first time, but when it comes to the phone I generally end up calling the lady a silly cow as she must have a hearing defect in phone mode. :)

Can it be programmed?
Not programmed as such as you can’t add new commands. The commands are all pre-defined but you can record voice tags that are associated with address book entries, which you then use to call or navigate too. E.g “navigate jo bloggs” or “call jo bloggs”. If you have multiple entries for “Jo Bloggs” such as personal, business and mobile she will then ask which one etc or you can just say “call jo bloggs mobile”.
You can also record voice tags for radio stations. The voice tags need to be as different sounding as possible and quite long to keep it reliable.
There is a facility to train the recognition to improve its reliability of the built in commands where I believe you can changed the word you speak, but I have not tried this as it works well as it is.
When dialling phone numbers either give it in small blocks and wait for her to repeat, eg “01493” – ‘0 1 4 9 3’ – “995” – ‘ 9 9 5’ – “254” – ‘2 5 4’, or say the whole number in one go but make sure you do not stumble or she will start repeating while you continue and you get totally lost. If you use the short blocks method then you can delete the last block by saying “delete” and repeat that block again but if you say the whole number in one go and there is a mistake than you have to say the whole number again.
One other tip is that if you push the stick away from you then you see a list of common commands that are applicable on the COMAND screen.

Thanks for the tips. will play more over the weekend. Just a quickie though how do get it to change countrys in navigation mode?

You just say "enter country" and you will be asked to select from a list that appears on the screen. Say "next page" or "previous page" to scroll up or down and then say the number of the required country.

Can you buy Linguatronic?

Can you buy the Linguatronic module separate or is it only available as a factory option?

if so where can I purchase one

Yes Braybrooks did a great job.

Here is the complete list of commands to use on the Linguatronic Voice Control. For ease of operation, some functions may be performed with several voice commands. These are shown in groups in the list which are separated by an empty line. You can choose which one you wish to use.

Have you re-trained it? If you have ver. 3.0 of the Nav Software, you have the possibility to train the Linguatronic.

Neither the box or the disc show the version, so I do not know what version I have, but its an 04 car.

THE DVD shows no version nbr. Should be on the box. The latest version came out in April I think. Ten minutes job to upgrade, and you do it yourself. Some UK dealers demand a rather high price, but if your car is only a few months old, you might try to get it for free. Some succeeded....

Oh crikey this can be retrofitted as well :bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

Dare I ask... Roughly how much does it cost  to add Linguatronic to a car (W203) with COMAND.
