Links to websites not working

I have a problem which is beating me. If someone lists a website ,say, on this forum, normally if I clicked on it, it opened the website in question. For some reason , that does not happen now. I have trawled through various microsoft supposed fixes but none has worked. Has anyone any idea what I can do short of system restore?

My first guess is that when you click on a link, you are sometimes taken via a different site which generates income for this website.

If there is an issue with that redirection, you might not get to where you clicked.

Try Dec's link above and see what you get.

Yes, the Ctek site opened without any trouble. Does that mean it is a problem with the sites I was trying to open? A no of them were government sites !

You might be clicking on OLD links to sites like the Russian parts site… detali.ru… or other old links perhaps.
