My x218 doesn’t have a load cover and can’t find one on eBay - could someone show me a photo of it in situ (open and closed) and give me a part number.

I leave my clubs in the car and although the windows are tinted black they feel vulnerable with the 1/3 back seat down. Anyone come up with any innovations for getting clubs out of sight in the back of one of these - they will fit diagonally but then nowhere for trolley

Definitely don't leave clubs on display. You will lose them.

The compromise is to put the trolley in a footwell and cover it with a rug. It'll be less obvious (Standard routine for convertible owners.)

If you mean a CLS shooting brake, it's a C218 and the load cover looks like this. If I've misunderstood your question, tell me the model and year you're looking for.

My mistake. Written on the hoof. It’s not the C218 because it’s the Shooting brake. Silly me

If I could find one of them I’d be happy

is the 2015 shooting brake not the x218?

I understood it to be w = saloon, c = coupe, x = suv not sure what an estate should be - S? Don’t understand why I think my shooting brake is an x218 as that shouldn’t be an X but the four door CLS saloon is definitely designated a C

It’s a 2015 CLS Shooting brake - I did try the clubs before buying but I’d already set my heart on it - they will go in diagonally with the trolley sans wheels in either triangle left - I’ll have to try this I think.

Thanks for the link to the cover I’ll keep an eye out for one

Yes, as per my second post, you’re right that it’s the X218.

Don’t ask me why they think the 218 is more like an SUV than an estate…

Understood, but inside the the M25, the tradition is still to steal luggage, tools, and golf clubs that are half hidden from view by tinted windows. Tinting just attracts thieves, especially in big car parks

Could someone with a x218 check the number on the load cover - Mike sent an eBay link that had a number but doesn’t look right 12998595

£358 at the dealer!! I’ve got an Amazon one in reserve but think the Mercedes one will be a better fit

Funny how its an X......coupe styled Merces are usual a CXXX

According to Mercedes reserve the X for:
  • X: Used for SUVs that are designed from an already-existing platform.
Its no SUV!

Only ever seen it referred to a an C218 Shooting Brake.....but then of course its not technically a coupe OR a shooting brake!!! LOL!
