Location of battery in a E320 w210?

I think the battery is dying on her car, it's a 97 w210 E320 (V6 not straight), i can see the positive terminal under a black cover and there is an earth point just in front, but where is the battery? Thanks!

You might see when you get there.....

If it's a saloon press down slightly on the front corners of the base and lift the recessed latch at the bottom corners of the base then lift the base out.

I'm not going to see a flintstone style rust hole am I?

If its a std battery make sure the breather pipe is routed through the floor to atmosphere.

Mines a sealed jobby, but the hole was left open si i fitted a grommet and some waxoyl.

Some small patchs of rust on mine but probably to do with the multiple boot leaks.

Fantastic. Nothing like MB quality is there? Though to be fair for a £3k car i don't care how many rust holes it develops.
