Anyone know where I may get hold of a Type D locking wheel nut key - MB want almost £50

First time in 15 years that a key has snapped - had to be on the ML did it not.

I swap winters/summers regularly.. so guess have been lucky,

Today I decided to swap summer/winter wheels on the cars - all good until the ML key snapped (lucky that have spare wheel bolts). To add insult to injury - think the serpentine belt also let go.

Do you have the original locking bolts box with the piece of paper showing the key's unique code? You might be able to find a match on eBay.

Thanks. Sadly no. Never received this car with the typical spare bolts in a plastic case but only the locking key in a little nifty MB bag.

So tempted when get the other 3 off - to simply replace with non locking bolts.

Try "wheellockpro" on ebay. Send them a photo of the keyway and for £20 you will have a new one.

If you can’t find a replacement key at the right price then you could just ask a specialist to remove them - there are pole who remove broken locks who could remove them with the key.

Of course MB could not tell me what which key it is - however, when I told them it was a 304 - they were able to confirm (!) and price at £50ish but item not on the shelf.

"Amazon is my friend" at half the price. However, given they messed up the order - let me keep the (correct) key FOC.

Now have no locking wheel nuts on my winter wheels. After this hassle, it has not even snowed nor been icy
