Longlife Basingstoke doing my Cat delete

This is for btb500

What did you have done at Basingstoke exhaust wise, just been quoted £600 for longlife stainless exhaust from primary cats back, does this sound right? Any feedback appreciated.

Best regards

Gary

I had stainless tube fitted from the primary cats to the back box. I already had a Y section there from when I had the centre muffler removed, and they moved that back to feed into the rear box.

So you would be having more done, plus a rear box supplied. But it does sound like a big increase in price :dk:

Hi DK

The only problem I have is a rotten bracket near the back box so will ask if they can just give me stainless steel from primaries to back box see if that will bring down the price. Btw I went to lakeside not Basingstoke though if they're cheaper could be a nice trip in this weather.

99 SL500 going into get a longlife from primary cats back for £600 from West Thurrock, same at all Longlife places near me. Exhaust bracket in front of the silencer has gone so it was either £350 from my specialist or £600 for most of the exhaust except front of primary cats and lifetime guarantee. Will post a youtube soonest.

why cant they simply weld the bracket back onto your existing pipework? I've just swapped over backboxes on my SL and the bracket you speak of was starting to go on both rear boxes I had. five minutes with the mig welder and it was sorted though.

Seems like a huge difference in price between what BTB was charged for and your quote. :dk:

I paid £250 to have my secondary cats and resonators cut out and replaced with straight through pipes. Work was done by topgear in St Albans

I think it's so much as I'm having ss from the primary cats all the way back including new back box which was also a bit rattly. Was quoted £350 just for back box so £600 for almost a complete exhaust didn't seem that bad.
