Spent a few hours cleaning the crud from the liners and behind the liners, shocking what gets in there. Then applied sealant.

Airmatic pump quick clean around that didn't want to upset anything!

are you repainting the whole car?
Everything apart from the roof, it's a fantastic car, sadily it doesnt have that 55k under the bonnet.

Slowly but surely looking at another 3 weeks! No rush, I want a top notch job! Paid a visit to the MB Loughton to buy some new cosmetic parts..little things imo draw the eye. Relieved me of several hundreds pounds to boot.

what cosmetic parts did you get?

New exhaust finishers 115 each, bonnet badge 25, rear boot star 30, new plates MB 35, wiper blades 35, gear knob cashmere and high gloss laurel on back order 185. Tbh the inside is pretty much like new.

they didn't clean up well?

Well they did but had signs of corrosion and a 10 mm split on the edge of one of the finishers. Some may see it a waste, but for me it would always draw my eye!

when you own the car its the little niggles which will drive you MAD!!!

I would say if you have the money to do it then fix what you can :)

I am the same, the little imperfections drive me mad

Yup - With the paintwork that your are having done then these ancillary items will need to match in appearance. I managed to polish up the tips on mine but there are some pit marks which spoil them - they look ok from a few yards back. A little academic because the soot hides mine within a day or so......
