looking at a sl 300 24 valve, any tips?

Im going to look at a 1991 sl 300 24valve tomorrow it ha done 110,000 but has fsh, would anyone be put off by the high mileage and is there anything i should look out for

110k is not high mileage for a Mercedes let alone one that's 18 years old! If it's genuine i'd say that was fairly lowish miles. Normal things such as brakes, service intervals, condition of tyres, exhaust etc.

Any 18 year old is always a gamble espcially is its a car....

Cylinder head gasket and make sure all the fancy electrical gismos work. Make sure the anti rollover bar mechanism works and the soft top mechanism and fabric/rear window are in good condition. It should also have a hard top. At this time of year the soft top should being used so ask to see it working if the hard top is still fitted.

As yet i have only seen pics of the car and they are all with the hardtop on but the dealer says he hood is good, its advertised for £3795 wich seems very cheap compared to others but it has just had an mot
