Not all AG's have Isofix
Child recognition disables the airbags for that seat automatically if a child seat is installed.
Easy Pack is just a bar that can move about in the boot to secure luggage
Automatic child seat recognition is fitted in all 211s to the front passenger seat only and serves to automatically disable the front passenger airbag if a compatible child seat is installed there (i.e. one that works with the recognition system).
Isofix brackets are fitted optionally to the rear seat squab and provide a simple-to-use mechanical fixing for Isofix-equipped child seats. Isofix brackets are not fited as standard to either 211 saloons or estates, regardless of trim level.
I know the isofix is a good set up but is this a must?
We used the Maxi Cosi child seat with the Maxi cosi base unit. The base unit available with isofix or not. Without the seat belt goes round the base unit and is bulled tight, very tight.
Baby seat then just clicks in. Its very secure and on the Which Baby seat gets great reviews
we already have the baby seat, its a Britax (which I think Mercedes themselves use (just re-branded). It's just the missus isn't keen on not having ISOFIX (our main car does have ISOFIX) but I want a car with power under its wheels for the long journey to my family in Wales. We have two labradors and the main reason for change is to move to an estate, I just need to move to one which preferably has ISOFIX as well.
