Looking for house insurance between contract exchange and completion

Thanks to everyone for their contributions.
Have used a very helpful broker based in Worthing ( Bickersinsurance) .
Due to age of building, over 250 year , normal short term policies would not cover the risk. The broker actually looked at the property on line after we had spoken , told me they do that to try to manage risks better and avoid taking on something likely to cause problems with the underwriter, he said often they identify items which need to be discussed with the underwriter which might not be disclosed using the normal policy questions or be withheld by the proposer.
Found me annual building cover which the underwriters were prepared to cover the building from exchange , cost was very reasonable indeed ( £385 for house cover with £500 k rebuilding costs ) compared with my existing insurer and comparison websites which only allow cover after completion. Will also have lower excess charges on the new policy as well , great result as far as I am concerned.
Also advised me not to cancel my remaining 8 months contents insurance with my current insurer as costs have risen significantly over the last month or two and quotes for a new annual policy would almost certainly be a lot higher, suggested to get a quote for the balance of the house insurance period in 8 months time to take me to a common renewal date so I could get better deals renewing both policies at the same time .
Much better experience than dealing with a computer

I presume that you are talking about this firm in Littlehampton:-
