Hi, I'm looking for an excellent Mercedes specialist in Surrey (preferably around Woking/Guildford/Weybridge area). I recently purchased a 2013 W212 and the Engine Management light is on, so it needs to be checked asap.
Thanks in advance.

TM Motors in West Molesey are very good, and a short run down the A3 you have Olly’s place PCS who are forum sponsors (BlackC55 is his user name on here)

If you recently bought this from a dealer can you not ask them to sort it out for you? Should have some form of warranty?

Thanks Will, I'll get in touch with them. Which one do you think has a better availability? Cause I want to sort it asap. And yes the car has warranty, the dealer offered me to collect the car and get it back all the way to Wales to fix it or asked me to find a good garage so they can liaise with them and pay the bill.
Hopefully it's not something serious.

If you’re able to get to either I’m sure an intial diagnosis shouldn’t be too difficult to fit in, best bet would be to call and explain they maybe able to squeeze you in.

Otherwise do you have Mobilo cover? If the car has full dealer history they maybe able to come out and check the codes for you if it’s happened whilst you’re out driving etc?

Thanks again, can't find Olly's contact details online, though I guess he's down in Southampton which is quite a distance especially if I have to leave the car there. I double checked the warranty cover and couldn't find anything about "Mobilo" in there. The car has indeed full dealer history.

The check engine light came up once before on the day I went to buy the vehicle and the car went into limp mode briefly, the diagnosis showed an exhaust pressure error, but then the light turned off a few hours later. I think the most likely is a malfunctioning EGR valve. What do you think?

TM Motors:
TM Motors Mercedes specialist service & repair - Surrey

PCS:
Mercedes Benz & Smart Specialists | Prestige Car Service | Horndean, Hampshire

Either should be able to help with your issue depending on which option is easier for you.

Mobilo is the roadside assistance service provided by Mercedes-Benz, if your car has been serviced by them you should be eligible. Not sure if they’d come out for the EML but if it’s in limp mode/not running correctly they might? Can call them and see what they say:

Mercedes Benz Retail Group London | Roadside Mobilo Assistance

Who diagnosed it last time? I’d want to make sure the garage you bought it from were okay with settling the bill with whoever you choose to take it to. Regards the fault - wouldn’t want to guess, sorry. I don’t own a diesel I’m afraid, and although internet diagnosis can be useful it’s no substitute for someone who knows these cars taking a proper look :thumb:

Plus one for T & M Motors in West Molesey . Have used them for my last 4 Mercedes . They know what they are doing , are very helpful / good to deal with and reasonably priced. Or PCS in Horndean but rather a drive for you.

Thanks a lot, already booked the car with T&M for Tuesday, though the Engine management light turned off by itself! Read the manual and it says you don't need to get it checked if the light turns off. Suggestions?

It should have stored some codes if it’s been on?

Best to get it sorted out sooner rather than later especially if you want the dealer to sort this fault out for you.
