Looking for rough price guides

    Hi Guys,

    As it turns out this car is looking to be about as reliable as a Scud Missile!

    Therefore, I'm looking for some rough ideas as to costs for my '03 W211 E270 CDI.

    It seems to be showing ALL the symptoms of the 'Valeo' Gearbox killer! :crazy:

    This will determine if I keep the car or not...

    So, what sort of costs are involved in replacing the Rad, transmission and TC?

    Any comments are much appreciated.

    The biggest giveaway is the vibration at light throttle at 30 mph.
    Feels like the whole car is shaking or driving over cobble stones.
    If you are lucky and the transmission is okay then you are looking at roughly £1200 including labour and bits for a new rad and recon TC.

    Thanks Tony,

    Yeah, the motor is pretty awful alot of the time, just like driving over a crappy road surface, all kinds of rumblings going on, more so up even the slightest of inclines, which there are plenty of these round here!.
    I've been coasting along and put my foot down slightly to get more momentum and noticed the revs pick up but it seems the gear isn't engaged and produces no actual drive to the wheels? This has only happened once.
    Accelerate pretty hard(ish) from a stand still and 'limp mode' kicks in, symptoms alot more harsh in the 'S' setting rather than the 'C' GB setting.
    It's driving me mental! :crazy:
