Hello all
Any advice on how to soften up the ride on a 2008 W204 C63?
It’s only on 18” rims with stock tyre sizes but it’s still pretty harsh so looking to soften a little.
Is increasing the tyre profile by a little an option? Or will this throw the Speedo out? Or is there a reasonably priced Coilover set up that would help?
Thank you

I’m probably the wrong person to ask. I’m of the opinion that AMG’s are often oversprung and underdamped. Many people will disagree with me, but I often feel that down an undulating B road you end up hanging onto the wheel for dear life, while the car tries to bounce you out of the seat. I have found the KW v3 kit resolves the problem for me. It’s a night and day thing. Just my opinion. I’m sure I’ll get flamed by the purists 😉

Thanks. They are available to order online I assume as I’d need them shipped (as I’m in Jersey)

Also, are you on 18 or 19 inch wheels? Thanks

Have you ever driven another C 63 to compare it with?

Which brand are the tyres? Before doing anything I would check the tyre size, load rating and week of manufacture on the side wall. If you have a very old run flat tyre then it would ruin the ride.

Heavy aftermarket and replica wheels can also ruin ride. I have loaned wheels to the main dealer to show owners who complain about ride, and disbelieve that their aftermarket wheels cause it.

I have owned a W205 C63S - which from memory was generally more compliant.

The wheels are OEM AMG 18" not replica - and tyres are the standard size (they are pretty old tyres though) - Michelin PS4 (not 4S) inflated to 38psi as stated inside fuel filler flap. Maybe new (better) tyres would improve things.
