c43 amg
hi, im a new member and im considering buying a c43 amg, i havnt seen one in particular just looking around and trying to get some knowledge on these cars.Ive read some past threads on possible gear box problems, anything else i should be looking out for ? Any other info anyone has that may help guide me to getting a good example would be appreciated. ps if anyone is running a c43 amg could you give me an honest guide on its fuel consumpstion please. cheers Leigh

Mine could be for sale later on today. Photo's in the Gallery.Low 20's mpg combined.

Hi,
I get approx 22-24 mpg on average though this rises to nearly 30 on a run, and can be as low as 15-17 around town.
As previous posters on this thread have said C43AMG's car is a very good example and you would be very hard pushed to find a better example by all accounts.
I,ll go out on a limb and say I believe the gearbox issue has been exagerrated somewhat on the C43 as mine is still operating perfectly ok on the original gearbox at 130,000 miles, "but" the 2000 model C43, they did fit a different gearbox (Tiptronic) with revised gearbox software. So this could be seen as an admission that there was an issue with the earlier gearbox.

thanks Peter i found your photos, lovely car, thanks Andy could live with that mpg, ran an Audi s6 for a year or so and was only getting 11 mpg maybe 18-20 on a run

How do you do that :o ? Many thanks.

c43amg i had the gearbox oil 25,000 miles ago just in case.

If your still interested let me know and all those would be C43 owners out there i open to serious offers.

I Typed 'HERE' then highlight it. With it highlighted, click on the
createlink.gif
which will bring a pop-up window asking for the URL.

Paste the URL of your gallery and Bobs your Uncle! :bannana:

hi Peter, think your car may be out of my league, but you never know, what price tag does it have ? thanks, Leigh

Very artistic photo's.

1st one for me .... i'm always put off cars with crappy personal plates for some reason ...

£5k with scratched wheels and no service or £6k with a refurb and a service ..

Wonder what service it is due ?

Wheel refurb circa £250 , will the service be £750 ?

Have to say , having seen and been in Peters , it's the one to have ... it's worth the extra money all day long .

The front bumper bar is missing from the 2nd one, expensive to replace - otherwise looks nice... in the pictures.

Have a look through my profile at some previous threads. I owned a 99 Estate a couple of years back.
You can expect an average of 25mpg and towards 30 on a run.

If you are purely in the town then expect well below 20.

Front bumper bar? where do you mean?

the £5000 c43 amg on pistonheads does interest me but has no xenons ! what do you think ? any idea how much it would cost to change them? cheers Leigh

Could,nt see it on my works PC, is it that bit expensive then?
I,m fitting OEM Xenons on mine I bought the whole lot from a C43 being scrapped in Birmingham, for £400 which included the,
2x Xenon headlights.
2x control units (Ballasts).
2X Headlight wiper motors, arms and wiper blades.
Front and rear suspension sensors C/W with wiring.
Electric levelling loom complete with the ECU.
Washer bottle C/W washer pump, hoses and non-return valve.
The only other thing I needed to buy was the separate headlight wash/wipe loom.
I reckon it will of cost me in the region of £500 by the time I have paid for the car to be plugged into STAR to calibrate the Electric levelling.
