loss of a good authorised repairer

I got a letter from MB this morning telling me that 'with immediate effect' my local authorised repairer, H L Gorner will be unable to 'officially' service MB cars. Shame, I've always had excellent service from them.

Anyone know why ? Is it just Gorners being delisted, or are the authorised stealerships flexing their muscles again ?

Apart from the authorised stealers that MB's letter recommends, can anyone point me at a good alternative authorised repairer in my area - Wigan.

If not and I stick with Gorners, assuming they remain as an indy, what happens to the service record ? Will it be accepted by a stealer at trade-in time ?

I have a friend who used to work for HR Gorner who recently left and set up by himself (he arranges car finance). From what he was saying to me Gorners are headed down the pan, all they have at the moment is a Subaru and TVR showroom and they aren't shifting many cars......

Warrington used to have a gorners showroom which closed down a few years back. I was at the wigan sr the other week and the car was littered with TVRs.

MB are trying to clawback the independant franchises i think to make them more accountable i suppouse and have a direct say in how they operate? namely their profit margins?

I was meant to get my car repaired there but i have just been informed by insurers that they have gone down the pan and that there not on there list anymore...

Such a shame as i had just discovered them on my last service - Low prices and good service whist still maintaining your Mobilo/Rust Warranty etc The prices below are what I was quoted in September whist phoning round for a A-Service on my 99 C200 Auto . HL Gorner proving the best option!!!
