Hi

I have a CLS 320 2008, I had a problem since purchasing the vehicle 5 years ago, where it would occasionally "kangaroo" when accelerating hard, I have cured that fault by repairing the Turbo Actuator, (I did fit a new "Ebay" actuator whilst the original was being repaired but still had the same loss of power even with the new one installed) this has also cured to a point my loss of power, BUT I still get loss of power when climbing long inclines, I lose boost pressure and cannot regain it until I turn the engine off and restart it, then all is fine until the next time.

I recently travelled to Bristol Airport and left the car for 6 weeks whilst on holiday and on our return the inevitable battery was flat, Bristol Silverzone very kindly jump started it and everything was OK until we started climbing the notorious Telegraph Hill, Exeter, as we started to climb I felt loss of power and we had to "limp" home without the turbo, as I didn't want to risk not being able to restart it due to the flat battery at Bristol. After returning home and restarting it, all was fine again, but I'm sure it will happen again sometime.

I would be interested to know if anyone has had this fault and how they managed to fix it.

Many thanks

Derek

One of the most common issues is the exhaust back pressure sensor , without a scan for error codes and live data ,your simply guessing.

Thanks for the advice, I'll run a diagnostic later and see what codes come up also see if I can get any live data too.

I thought it was the turbo actuator playing up which actually was faulty, bought a new one from Ebay which cured the Kangaroo problem (one of the tiny wires were broken), the same fault appeared so sent it back for a refund got a replacement which did the same thing, so I got my original one repaired and its still the same so I know it must be something else.

I'll post when I get any news.

Cheers

Derek

Here is all the live data my scanner will show, I don't think any of it relates to the Exhaust Backpressure, the only other thing is the code P0299 which is the only one relating to it, I have others that relate to a couple of heater plugs not working but I know about them.

Cheers

Derek

I have changed the exhaust back pressure sensor as suggested, but the fault still exists, so any other suggestions would be welcome. It only seems to happen when I accelerate up a long hill, it pulls nicely then decides its had enough and I feel the loss of power, it won't reset back to normal until I have turned the engine off and back on again. Cheers
