Hi,
Ive owned a w203 c220 now for two years (my first car), relativiely trouble free, except from suspension parts and joints going all the time, but thats expected with the state of the roads.

Over the last week i have been losing power when driving. It first happened about 4 days ago, i suddenly had hardly any power, had to put the pedal down 3/4 of the way just to maintain 30mph up a hill. I couldnt hear the turbo either. I pulled the car over, turned the car on and off then the car was fine again, but then the same issue happened 15 mins later.

I read something on another forum that it could be due to a faulty maf sensor, so i tried unpluging it and then driving the car. Since doing that the car has been fine. Do you think the maf sensor is the culprit?

The symptoms do point to a faulty MAF sensor.
You really need the stored fault codes read to properly diagnose the problem.

Do you have a good MB independent garage nearby? They have the diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the fault and will be cheaper than a main dealer.

Thanks for the reply mate. I just dont get why the car isnt showing any malfuntions on the dash or anything, the only light that shows is when i unpluged the maf sensor, there was a yellow engine management light showing. Ye il have to take it to the independent where i get my car serviced, im just so busy at the moment so dont have time to take it in. Ive been driving a different car this week but do you think its safe to drive the car until i get the car checked? Could i cause damage to it?

I had loss of drive caused by a faulty fuel sensor. Weird and no fault light until it finally died proper.

Got the car plugged in but no fault codes related to a loss of power. The car hasn't had any loss of power in the last week now so hopefully it doesn't happen again
