I downloaded and installed the updates for Windows 7 (64bit) today, and have now lost the virtual scrolling on the Synaptics touchpad, where you can scroll through a screen by sliding your finger along the edge of the pad.

Is it just me, or has anyone else found this?

Any solutions?

I let Windows search for a new driver on the interweb, but it decided the existing one is the most suitable, although there is a higher-numbered version available on the Symantec website.

The existing driver is V11.something, V14.something is on their website.

Of course I meant Synaptics, not Symantec.

The 'edit' button seems to have vanished from my post

Update (see what I did there?)

I uninstalled the new updates and the scrolling function returned. I then reinstalled the updates one by one, checking for scrolling each time, and with all the updated reinstalled scrolling still works :dk:

That's Microsoft for you ;)

scrolling is normally taken care of by a utility or driver, the updates probably knocked it out originally. Seen similar behavior in XP. Thought Win 7 was better at keeping apps in their own memory spaces though.
