Low idle speed on first start for 3-5 seconds

Hi Guys,
My 2008 E220 CDI has started acting up on first startn starting it runs roughly about 400-500 rpm for around 3-5 secs and then moves up to normal idle speed and is fine from then on?
Anyone experienced this before?
I think I remember reading on a thread a while back about one of the sensors/valves on the fuel rail being responsible for idle at start or am I barking up a wrong tree?

It might be an indication that the glow plugs are not working .
They usually operate for a couple of minutes following startup (at least ones on this side of the pond).

It’s not cold enough here at the moment in the UK to need glow plugs

Nor here, but they fire up anyways.

Next thought is fuel.

yeah I was thinking Fuel will see if its left any codes.

mine did this when i had a tiny split in the intake hose

Thanks dubburke, was that the hose at front passeger side running up to EGR?
