Howdy, so I know how to operate it and what of does, but how does the system actually work please anyone? Does it kick in specific bits of mechanics or is it just an electronic adjustment? I hear a clunk even I engage it so assume something actually moves?

    Curious!

I believe it's an electrical input (ie push button) but a mechanical movement of "shafts" and "cogs".

Is it something that could physically be seen or is it very much internal workings?

    Just to add
The motor creates a range change inside the transfer box. Very much like a truck!
