LPG cars lose London Congestion Charge discount

So obviously timed to coincide with the £25 charge? I suppose flocks of people would otherwise avoid paying ££££s a year?

Will

So how does this piece or retrospective legislation tie in with the desire to decrease London CO2 levels?
If anything it does the exact opposite.
Yet another piece of evidence that ties this down as a money making exercise only.

The only thing that surprises me about this is that anyone is surprised that it's happening.

As an aside, while there may have been one or two people who bought or converted cars to run on LPG because of the lower CO2 emissions, I would postulate that the vast majority did so to benefit from the lower taxation - be that on the fuel, the VED or the London C-Charge.

Once again it has been demonstrated that taxes do nothing but distort the market and raise revenue.

The one bit of sanity that has come from Ken over the Con Charge is ending the exemption for hybrids that emit more than 120g CO2/km. I could never work out how he justified this in the first place.

There are still the Minicab and Private Ambulance dodges remaining ;)
