LPG inlet backfire into crankcase - anyone experienced this and more pertinently, given LPG's propensity to this, how to prevent it reaching the crankcase.
I had a (my own fault) low gas backfire. It has ruptured the timing cover and permitted oil loss. At speed on the road, this could present a real fire hazard (mine happened during shunting). Keen to hear how to avoid another BF reaching downstairs. It can only have travelled via the crankcase breather hose (which blew off). Should it not have a check valve? There are three pop offs on the induction system but they didn't prevent the crankcase being involved - something I've never heard of before.
Any ideas as to how to prevent another (inevitable) BF from reaching the crankcase?
