The rubber seals around the windscreen that the roof and door on my E350 convertible seal against are feeling dry and not as flexible as they should be. What are the thoughts about the best lubricant/rubber restorer available please?

Thanks

We use silicon lubricant to good effect. Often from Lidl so not a great investment.

All seems well on my 300CE and my son's 190D1.5.

The very good but expensive option is Krytox, original recommended seal restorer by BMW for the Eos (reknowned for seal problems!). Cheaper (much) alternative is GummiPflege, cheapest source is normally Micks Garage on Ebay when buying 2 rather than 1. I've been using that on both cars for many years, including my 968 cab I had before the SLK.

Buying gummipfledge in 500ml spray form is cheaper than the roll on sticks .
White silicone grease is a very cheap option as well .

Is it worth pointing out that you must never confuse gummipflege spray with KY Jelly ?

It happened to someone on here last year and it wasn’t good.

His windows fell out.
