I would just like to share my experience of M B Brent Park in Wembley.I rang them from South London at midday to enquire about a C class they had on their website and was told the car was available and to head over.Arrived 2 hours later only to be told the car had been sold...Yeah right...Was shown another C class that had obviously been lying for months, caked in dirt and when fired up ran like a dog.I told the salesman that i wasn't too impressed with their car and was basically told that they weren't too fussed as they sold 20 cars a week and had buyers travel from all over the UK to purchase them.I doubt that very much as most as all their stock seems on the rough side (look good on the website admittedly)...I would advise anyone whose thinking about buying from them to look elsewhere.

Last went there in 2006 and only saw dirty and rusty cars. Admittedly was on the hunt for an S210 so rust was on the checklist, but the worst cars I saw were at MB Brent Park. Very sad really.

Conversely Retail Kingston from my single experience last year were very good. Their stock was good, but I didn't buy [opting to keep the old S210 alive for a little longer], but they have kept in touch on an almost monthly basis since. They'll certainly get the oppotunity to find my next car..

Was beginning to think this approach to Approved Used Cars was a North West thing but clearly not. Dont know why MB dealers think they can sell cars at £20k+ with badly scuffed alloys huge scratches on paintwork badly worn areas on seats and bald tyres. One car I was offered had all these and others we saw had at least one or two of these faults We went elsewhere.

Agree oldguy,,some of these dealers are obviously buying from auctions and sticking them straight on the net with a couple of grand mark up without even touching the cars. What kind of people part with their hard earned to places like MB Brent.Ive honestly never seen such a collection of scrap in one garage.I mean they dont even take the time to keep the cars clean. All of the ones they had outside were absolutely filthy.

Had very poor experience from there too! Have posted a full thread of my experience on here, back in Feb. don't know how to post the link to it, as I am on the app on my tablet.

I will try and find your thread Abb,i would be interested to read it.

I really really dont understand the philosophy behind MB dealers approach to used cars. Gone are the days when MBs sold themselves - maybe they think that presenting used cars badly you will buy a new one! The local Ford dealer also sells various used cars of different makes - their presentation is always immaculate even the back lot budget buys. Have yet to catch them out even with an unpolished car. Stark contrast and very very disappointing.

Just sorry you didn't come across it earlier, could have saved you time and disappointment! Having said that you may have had a better experience than I did.
There was a silver lining to my cloud, I found an outstanding example within the next 12hrs and snapped it up! Everyone loves a happy ending!! lol
Hope you find what you are looking for.

Are MB Brent Park actually an MB dealer or a sales outlet specialising in Mercedes used cars.

They are not a dealership, they just specialise in used Mercedes. I was informed by the owner, he had been in the 'trade' for over 20years as his father started the business in luxury/exotic/sports cars and then diversified and began to specialise in Mercedes Benz. They buy most of their stock from lease companies and MB direct from around the uk, once the PCP/company/fleet brigade are done with them. Hence most of them being around the 3 year old mark.

Thanks, read your post Abb.Shocking way to treat people, especially in this day and age when you can slaughter them all over the internet.I found a 2 year old C class auto with 14000 miles from Motorpoint for 16 grand,,could have probably saved myself a grand buying privately but just could not be bothered running all over the country. There is a big Merc sale about once a month at Bca in Bedford all direct from Mercedes that i must take a look at for my next one as i like changing cars once a year.Only thing that annoys me about Bca is the buyers fee.

If you are au fait with buying at BCA why on earth were you looking to buy from some second hand car dealer who would most likely have sourced their stock from the same place?

MB Brent basically couldn't care less if you bought a car from them or not.

The dealer started the face to face conversation by saying "if i give you a good offer would you to commit to a car today" it seems like he had been busy selling too long in the utilities industry. When i proceeded to share that the offer he gave me didn't match another genuine offer he had turned pretty nasty in his attitude. Its like they expect you to make a £40,000 decision without a second thought!!

This doesn't sound to dissimilar to my experience I had at MB Hemel Hempstead, where he wanted me to commit to the car there and then. Before all that I pointed to him the car I came too see and he then proceeded to tell me that's not the car "Sir". How the h*ll would he know that!!!

Anyway, after five minutes of telling him which car I wanted to see he looked pretty stupid when he had to confess that the car I pointed out was indeed the right car!!!

During the test drive every time I asked him a technical question he couldn't answer it but always kept ramming on "Sir you are buying a MB, you should not worry or ask these types of questions. MB owners are part of a exclusive club...blah ...blah...blahhhh...."

The guy rabbited on much that the moment we finished the test drive the other half literally walked out of the dealership.

However, the best bit was during test he was telling me that he can earn more than a lawyer doing what he does!!!! Hmmmm REALLY, he has no understanding what lawyers earn, otherwise they too would be a salesman working for MB!!!!
