As an alternative to Star you might want to look at something like Autologic Diagnosis.

It's also expensive but has much of the same functionality, read reset fault codes, programming etc.

I'm afraid I don't have anything to do with this company, I've just seen their equipment being used & advertised.

There are many aftermarket diagnostic systems, some are self-contained units while others are based on a laptop computer with adapators. Some require extra software or cartridges for different models at extra cost, so be sure to check exactly which models the system interface will work with. GOOD LUCK.
