M1 Speed Cameras Nottingham

I was driving on the M1 near Nottingham yesterday and didn't notice the speed cameras on the gantries until the last second. I was probably doing 85mph max. but I might have managed to slow down in time.
Now i'm really worried I might have been caught speeding. Can anyone tell me if
1. The cameras are active (there's a lot of contradiction),
2. Am I likely to get caught and receive a letter with points and/or fine?
3. Has anyone else been caught aroung this area?
4. On this stretch of the M1, is it likely that the cameras weren't even on, as there was no variable speed limit enforced?
I feel sick with worry and I can't sleep - it's only been one day! I don't think I can make it two whole weeks without some advice. Someone please help!

Don't worry, if the signs weren't lit up with a set speed limit you should be alright. I live not too far away and travel that stretch north and southbound, I always do 70ish through the cameras but I have friends who've been through them a fair bit quicker (not that I condone that - they're variable cameras to control the traffic flow at peak times more than to catch speeding motorists) and they've had no tickets come through.

As above. I am fairly sure that they are not switched when nsl is active. Do not ask how I know.
