Afternoon,

Does anyone know if the flywheel for an m104 manual car will fit an M103 manual car?

Trying to source one for a manual transmission conversion for my m103 engined w126.

Many thanks

My guess would be yes , particularly if from a 300-24 engine , as I think the bottom end is the same .

Only thing I’d add is that , ideally , the flywheel and crankshaft should be balanced as a unit .

If you could find a 300-24 engine , complete with gearbox from a donor car it would be an easy swap to put both into your car , hence no balance issues .

Manual cars were more common on the continent, so Id imagine eBay.de might be a happy hunting ground .

Oh , and there were some late 126’s which had the M104 300-24V engine , which carried over into early W140’s , before the 320 replaced it .
