M103 Water Pump changed, rad light still on

Hi All,

Just spent a really amusing dozen hours changing the w/pump on my 300 sel - extra oil cooler, more fun there, and another £95 for the bent pipe.
Filled the header with only about five litres to the top.
The thing starts and the temp is a lovely rock steady 82.
Not driven it yet, no leaks, but the radiator symbol remains lit.
No bubbling in the header, and a very squeezy top hose.
I really don't want to look for that block drain plug.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

"Coolant light still on"... was it was on before the coolant and pump change or only since?

If the later my first guess would be that maybe the float got stuck in the low coolant position after draining the system? http://www.w124performance.com/service/w124CD1/Program/Engine/104/20-4450.pdf explains how it works, a w126 should be same/similar to the first drawing i believe

The light only appeared after a long time of standing with low coolant.

I hope it'll free itself-up when things get properly warm.

Yep its just that floaty thing in the expansion tank.
