M104 engine fan conversion

Hello,

Has anybody out there converted there viscous fan on a m104 engine to an electric fan?

Any advice would be appreciated.

The only reason why I am asking is this because my viscous fan is broken.

Such a conversion is complicated by the fact the car may already have 1 or 2 electric fans in front of the radiator to aid cooling for any airconditioning system fitted. They are designed to kick in at higher temperatures/ slow moving traffic if the viscous fan is not coping. Their switching would have to be modified if they were to take on the task of main cooling fan. Kenlowe used to supply after market kits for DIY but no longer it appears?

So such a conversion is possible but not easy- far simpler to renew that viscous coupling
