My 2000 C280 V6 has all the symptoms of a slightly sticking thermostat. One of the indy's I've used says he's never changed a stat on a M112 engine, which I find surprising. He has warned me that attempting to do this may result in having to replace the water pump assembly. Frankly, I think this is wrong. Surely it's just a case of removing the housing (maybe complete with stat as an assembly) and replacing. Maybe 1/2 to 1 hour's work max. Can someone please advise. Thanks.
