Has anyone ever heard of theres giving problems on the hateful M271 engine ? One of mine has sized and this is what caused the second chain to break . Ive been told by one indy that its common but another never heard of problems with them . MB are looking for 800 euro to replace the shafts and housing and thats after full discount and with no VAT .

From my experince with the engine and from talking with differant indys and the parts guy I deal with the a c**p engine . Ive had to change both cam sprockets , cam chain and head gasket in the last 6 months now after only 2000 miles its dead again due to this shaft

The M272 has sprockets, tensioners and shafts made of butter, so why not the M271?

Hopefully things will improve when Renault make the Mercedes petrol engines.

Whaaaaaaat?
