M272 Engine Diagnostic Light

Hello all

I have just bought a used W203 c280 estate with 26.5 k on the clock from an independent garage. After a few days the check engine light came on !!
I took it to a local indy specialist in East London (Hainault) where the tech told me that their Star diagnostic machines did not have software to fully identify errors on the M272 engine? He agreed to perform manual diagnostic tests as the diagnostic tool identified a misfire.Still no luck in identifying any particular issues he finally reset the adaptions and returned the car for a fixed rate of £102.00. Do you think this is reasonable and do you think he should have checked for the known issues with the M272 V6 as per tech note from MB?

Any advice is much appreciated.

problem central locking on 380 sl 1984

Hi i bought a 380 sl 1984 but the central locking doesnt work because the vacuum reservoir is gone. the central locking does only work when the car is running. Does anyone know where to find one and I'm also looking for a picture of it to see if i can find a second hand one ( cheaper ).

My C180K W203 had an engine management light issue: was nothing more than a spilt hose under the intake manifold. And this was a known issue for my MB dealer (was diagnosed via a technical bulletin I think) and it was fixed for only £30+VAT

if the vehicle was repaired then i would think the invoice was reasonable. i take it it was repaired

Auto box has now failed so am getting that looked at now.
