Anybody else caught in the M4 closure yesterday between about 1500 and 1900? I was stuck for over an hour......

It must have been serious :dk:

No, but I did attempt to avoid the M6 closure between 16 and 18 by cutting through Stone to Leek.
What a mistake, but I assume I was much better off than the poor souls involved in the accident and those in the queue.

I did think about taking a detour (once I'd worked out how to do that on the Nav :o) - but I figured everyone else would be trying that too and perhaps just sitting in the queue would be the best option. :dk:

I never remember them closing motorways in the olden days (unless there was a death). Now-a-days it seems to happen every couple of days on my local motorway haunts - M4/M3/M25/M5

At least it gives the HATOs something to do.

It was a motorcyclist..... usually serious on a motorway..

Bummer. At least I got to go home after my hour wait. My thoughts go out to his loved ones.

I got stuck in that too yesterday but got off at 15, through Alsager, across to Sandbach then Middlewich (I think) to get back on at J18.

Journey time from outside London to South Liverpool - 6 1/2 hours

As you say, at least we weren't involved in the accident...
