a garage owner friend of mine gave me a full housing unit and maf probe off a audi a4 tdi said to try see iff it worked, it did and was same numbers on bosch unit on my w210 maybe there is something to think about, wonder how much from an audi stealer than a merc?:bannana:

Interesting that one, could still be cheaper from any Bosch service outlet

The VW/Audi diesel MAF isn't cheap whereas the petrol one is.

I read an articla where they used a MB CDi Pierburg MAF instead of a VW one and it worked OK. A friend subsequently fitted one to his Passat and all was well, so presumably that will work Ok for a replacement for the Bosch one, and it's only £50.

iirc, member jgevers said they fit them to older MB diesels.

There does seem to be a lot of cross compatibility. The guys on the US BMW forums have found the Range Rover V8 (BMW sourced engine) to be much cheaper than the BMW version even though the electronics are identical.

And something else, the maf on my 2.0 diesel vectra is the same as a 98 c180!!!!
