That looks like a quote from someone who doesn't want the job.
Just price themselves out of it, then if they do get it, they will be financially rewarded.

Apart from the 1st pic, it looks ok, I'm fussy with me car, but I'm afraid I'd live with it at that price. 👍
I'm starting to wonder that to be honest, It's only my OCD knowing it's there, but I may just leave it! selling it in the future with that issue, I shouldn't loose that much on it (if they notice..)

Does look like that to be honest. Don't think I'll be replying to them. I'll try one more place on Friday, then give it a miss if they're the same.

Will see how it goes to the company on Friday, if they're the same, my money may be batter spent to a trip to MSL, and some change..

For a different viewpoint, have a read of post number 8 in the above thread (American).

Years ago I looked at at a virtually new E-class coupé, finished in designo matte paint, at a main dealer and noted that the bumper appeared to be of a slightly different 'shade', but only under certain light/angles. As it happened, the person who sprayed it was on site and he explained that there had been a very slight, but still noticeable, scratch on one corner and as they couldn't touch it up etc, had to spray the whole panel but that matte paint was very challenging to match (not the paint, just the finish).

First quote.... I lay just leave it as it is for that price!! I only asked for a quote to repaint the bumper..

wow, that looks eerily similar to a quote I had from Fastlane Paint & Body for what I asked them to quote. However mine was the front bumper and the quote was just shy of £6k inclusive of the VAT, and I don't even have matte paint!

I ended up with a smart repair place who charged about £600 for the same work, and they did an amazing job...

Definitely shop around, and look for someone who will go that extra mile to get the work just right, a small independent specialist can end up doing a much better job!

Thank you for the link, sounds like it could be quite tricky to get done, I worry that I may spend a fortune on it, and if may look worse that it does now. Interesting with regards to that E class as well you mentioned, and that it's the finish that's tricky to emulate.

Blimey, That's quite an amount!
Good result with the £600 though.

Just had a couple of local companies phone me, they both said they would have to repaint the whols side of the car to match the bumper, and even then it may look slightly off, both were quoting around the similar mark to the above as well. One said they didn't have that paint in their system, and had thousands in there. Looks like I may be staying with it..

Its surprising how many plastic bumpers, are not, exactly the same colour, as the rest of the car, not just Matt paint, but ordinary paint too

I wondered that too, and asked the chap from the local bodyshop I spoke to. He was saying it was because the bumpers can be sometimes painted at a different locstion than the main body of the car.

Just don't wash the car, you won't notice :)

It's a lovely car so enjoy it for what it is

Thank you :) I'm starting to think that now, Just going to enjoy it.

Honest to God I cant see a thing wrong :p

It does seem to be under certain lighting conditions.. But mates who I've spoken to can't see it unless I mention it to them. May just leave it like it is!

Unless you respray the entire car, you wont get that even look all over so best to leave it if it needs pointing out where the work was done. Full respray the proper way is in the range of £11,000 by most reputable workshops who will take the panels apart and redo the lot.

Thank you, I think I may well leave it as it is, and enjoy it, the rest of the paint is in great condition too. My worry is just doing the rear bumper again, it may look just as bad, or worse, and the full respray is a lot by the sounds of it!
