Want to replace at least one 2 Gang 240V faceplate with one that also has USB sockets. Most seem to have two USB "combined 2.1A" Will that meet my needs or should I go for a higher rated? Only likely to charge phones etc.

2.1 is fine I would have thought. Most iPhone chargers are 0.5amp. I have a dual output socket in the car and 2.1 charges most things pretty quickly.

I got mine from Wickes, replaced the ones in the bedroom - cheap as chips and work fine. 2.1A

If only charging with one at a time, it'll be getting the 2.1amp to itself.

I have a few, they're brilliant in the kitchen, living room and bedroom.

These have improved. The early ones shared the 2.1A even if only one device was connected so you never got more than 1A.

Most available today share the 2.1A but will send full power to one USB if only one device connected. Phones tend to use 1A, tablets 2A.

I installed a couple a while back and they have been perfect.

Currently 2 for £10 at Screwfix
