makes me cross

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said they were aware of the reports but no investigation had been launched.
I'd have prefered it if the response had been "don't worry we'll catch them!".

Disgusting. Just what is wrong with people in this country.

If I caught them doing that to my car, I think I would end up doing a 10 stretch myself. Nothing more than scum. They dont deserve to live in a so called civilised society.

What absolute morons!

I hope someone send the 'boys' round to give them a severe beating.

Violent retaliation/retribution is all these sort of people have any respect for - and yes, I'm in favour of all forms of corporal punishment and would vote for the political party that includes it in their manifesto!

Until they do 30.1 in a 30mph zone the police will not be too bothered.
At best they will get some crap sentence
like bound over to keep the peace.
What does that mean?

Thanks to the efforts of a few forums, the perpetrators have been identified - however until the owner makes a complaint, no crime has been committed.

I believe the owner has been traced in the last day or so, so hopefully these idiots will end up in the local stocks.

if that was my merc i would have tracked them down and beaten the living **** out of all three of them...... and mine dont even work at the moment lol.

this will seem odd comming from me as im only 20 myself but the younger people of today just have no value of the pound its a ****ing stupid attitude of "hey its not mine who gives a ****" ill tell you who does. the owner of the car (or whatever other possesion it may be) im a great lover of cars and if i had seen that happening in the street even if it was not my car i would have found myself stepping in.

its disgusting that people can get away with causing malicious damage to anything let alone a £20k vehicle..
theres even video evidence. how can it be disputed.

hang all 3!

rant over :D

I Thought one our majesties finest forum members once said before that the police can take action without the owner complaining.
confuses me as i was watching streetcrime UK yesterday and the police arrested a guy for being drunk.
And while they were standing by the van after throwing him in ,his brother slapped the girlfriend full face in front of the three coppers.
He was also arrested and the case was laer dropped the next morning as "no one pressed charges" even though it was done in full view of coppers.

What a farce.

At the end of the programme just listen to all the sentences of the arrested people.
caution
bound over to keep the peace (whatever that means)
dropped
not charged
fined
wonder who is filling up the jails.
Is it really through that the government measure crime figures by the prison population?

All I can say is that I am lucky where I live, well fairly lucky, the worst in the paper this week was one lad charged with breaking off the wipers on 30 odd cars

It would probably have taken a considerable amount of police time to track these people down, find the owner, investigate the damage - was there any real damage - and bring charges. Did the owner notice any damage or had he not bothered.
Compared to the loutish behaviour displayed I am also concerned at some of the retributive attitudes being voiced.

So are you saying that the police shouldn't even bother investigating crimes that are difficult to solve?
If that is what you ARE saying, then most crimes committed would never get any police action at all.
Now THAT would something to be "concerned" about.

Its too be expected. As we all know, even if these people are caught and eventually brought to trial, the worse they can expect is community service.
Weeding some old dears garden for a few hours......big deal.
What is needed is real deterrent - not just so those that have done this crime so they dont do it again - but to act as a warning to those thinking of maybe doing the same. Deterents in this country DONT fit the crime. Thats the problem - and thats why you have people expressing opinions as prevoiusly mentioned. I dont think you should be "concerned", I think you should be in agreement. Perhaps if it had happened to your property, you might have come to a different conclusion.
