malfunction message on petrol E320

Hi guys, I've just bought a 2001 E320 **********e saloon, its in nearly mint condition with just 100k on it. When i viewed the car last weekend all was fine.....so i picked it up today and was told that the seller had lef the lights on and totally killed the battery (but he gave me some money back for a new battery),we jump started it and it started fine, i drove the car 70 odd miles home with no probs and now its starting ok without having to jump it.
problem is......when i turn the ignition off i'm getting " 1 malfunction" on the display????????? is this anything to do with the flat battery?.....what can i do?.
any ideas???

I get the 1 malfunction message. It's a brake light in my case.
