That is disgusting... I used to go to Ilford regularly but I didn't think it was a dodgy area. Always keep my car doors locked in any case

The perpetrators are scum... the dregs of society. Worse, it was just a joyride to them and shows them to be merely parasitic vermin. If we are (as a nation) determined to import this lawless and egregious conduct from the USA and South Africa, we should also import the right to bear and carry concealed weapons.

If law-abiding individuals cannot be protected by the society in which they live and cannot go about their usual business unmolested and unthreatened then one has an absolute duty to protect one's self and one's loved ones. The loss of property is insurable and although it is a nuisance, in the final analysis that is all it is. Lives are different because they are never replaceable.

Where marauding criminals were made to fear for their own lives, they would think twice before attempting these acts of cowardice. if they did not think twice they would be ex-maruading criminals and merely carrion.

I've just read about that. Shocking. It's times like these I think the death penalty should be brought back. The cretins who did this simply don't care any more.
Poor guy. Thoughts go to his friends and family.

Shocking. Hmm no one knows who the woman in the passenger seat was, could have been a setup.

:dk:

The poor family.

A three mile walk, an hour saved cost a life. Anybody that mad is not going to be deterred by a proper sentence, we may as well not even have a justice system.

It is beyond me to know how such crime can be prevented.

Terribly sad to suffer such brutality in the name of such transient material value. It makes one wonder about a society conducive to the development of such criminality.

Thoughts really are with the family - I know these areas very well and wouldn't have expected such a thing.

I'm shocked.... words fail me right now, but my thoughts go to his family at this horendous time..

Just returned (last night) from possibly the most peaceful, crime free town anywhere, this news just reminds me what a nasty, vicious place UK has become.

My wife works shifts and thankfully our ML self locks as she comes home through some dodgy bits of Glasgow Keep impressing on her not to be distracted.

Thoughts and prayers are with his family

Brutal and shocking, i know friends who knew the guy well, apparently an ex-MB tech who went and opened his own independent garage, my thoughts go to his family and friends

The details in that particular article are slightly confusing on several counts (married? unmarried? etc), but what I find odd is that the carjacker managed to open the door without smashing the window - the door are normally set to auto-lock when driving? Or did they just set off?

'It is believed that the two had been sitting talking in Mr Bhurji's car when the suspect suddenly appeared, opened the passenger door and dragged the female occupant from the car.

My thoughts and prayers go to his family, all much to close to home for my liking.

I read an article in this evenings standard, about how thieves are now resorting to physical brutality to steal cars, as they can't get passed the security systems installed. The rise in homes being broken into to steel the car keys is also on the rise.

Somehow I feel that there may be more to this incident than meets the eye, truly sad and makes you think if its worth owning a nice car anymore.

The driver could have had the window down and the auto lock disabled.

I've disabled the auto locking, I find it very unnerving driving in a car with locked doors....

Makes me want to reposition my life hammer though in case it happens to me.

I hope they get the person who has done this heinous crime, and they go to prison and get a wretched time from the other inmates

Why? They auto unlock in case of crash anyway.

...or is it to stop the horrible clunk from the electric door locks...

He was a former MB Tech.

Worked at MB lakeside and had is own garage, R&J Motors,

Had used him a few times in the past.

What a loss.

RIP.

As a Mercedes specialist, he ran his own company R&J Motors, which also employed his father and brother. He had previously worked for Mercedes in Lakeside.
