Hello to everyone, am new to this site. Just recently purchased a mercedes s600 w220 which needs a lot of work. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get hold of a book similar to a Haynes manual for that car. Tried dealers but no joy

Don't think that there is such a manual, but although I've never really looked at the following, or followed any of the links through to see what, if anything, it details, it may be of some help to you.

Your best bet is to join the official Mercedes-Benz Club Mercedes Benz Club > Membership With this you will get free access to the most up to date Mercedes EPC and WIS which is what MB main agents use. Because this free access to members scheme is administered from Germany it will take 2-3 weeks to get your access codes. While this will take care of the mechanical side with a complex car like the W220 you will also need access to Mercedes Star DIAGNOSTIC system to check out any electrical faults- unfortunately these are quite expensive altho some cheaper second hand ones turn up on the forum from time to time.
I would also recommend trawling through various forums especially in the states where these cars are thicker on the ground. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220-s-class/
