Map Pilot subscriptions

Newbie question here, i have just bought the 2013 C220 AMG Sport Plus and want to buy the Map Pilot satnav. Ideally i want to use uk maps but don't want to be on a subscription plan. Is this possible please.

Is there a similar alternative

Any advise on Map Pilot would be helpful before spending money.

You can buy one on AMAZON/EBAY for a lot less than MB prices. You get a free update to the latest release of maps and software as part of the package. subsequent updates have to be paid for. You have to download it from the BECKER website after product registration. A word of warning---- updates are fairly infrequent so the "latest" update may be 4-6 months old. POI to include speed cameras are not part of the standard package. Systems like Garmin or Tom Tom have better up to date functionality for less money. However they do not have the integration with the existing MB display or steering controls that the Becker has. Lots of posts on here about it if you do a search.
