C43 AMG
Hi All, I got a shiny new C43 AMG Estate, which is my first Mercedes, and I am totally thrilled with it. Power was a little lacking, for the noise it makes, so I took it to those tuners in Totton DMS Automotive and wow! They are really good and really know their stuff ( and are really helpful too ), it now has 451 bhp and 480 lb/ft torque. It is a total weapon, and I think everyone will agree (:p), way better than a C63 - The 4 wheel drive gets all the power down and it really shifts!! I'm sure the tail happy C63 has its appeal, I do like them, but if you like to actually accelerate fast - and not just in the hot dry weather cos lets face it we dont get alot of that here - then the C43 is the way forward. ;-).

OMG - it's been said !!!

This spells trouble, strap on your red seatbelts, this will get hairy !

I really like the sound of my 43, but it will never sound nor impress like a V8 does.

But in theory the OP may have a point when the circuit isn't hot and dry. Then again if you allow a tuned engine to compare to a stock one, you should really allow for a tuned engine vs a tuned one ;)

The way I see it, the 43 models are great fast cars really nice. But the 4wd system does come with its challenges, and it doesn't have the character and experience a 63 model has in the range.

Or to put it simply, our 43 is great for my wife, I wouldn't mind the 63 model myself ;)

Both great cars, horses for courses and all that. But come on, look at the swollen wheelarches of a c63. Then hear one with a sports exhaust fire up. Who cares about pulling away from traffic lights quickly when you can leave a big fat number eleven behind you, all the while looking like a bad mutha f**** and sounding like Thor just farted! Seriously tho, they're both decent cars. I do love my c63 tho.

Perfectly put

Assume your MB warranty is now invalid and also what's your experience with the ongoing Crabbing characteristic that some owners are experiencing?

Why don't you just change your order to a c63 mate then you won't have the problem and you can stop stressing about it??

Who's going to be the first to add the popcorn pic?!

I can't decide whether the OP is a wind-up or an advert for the tuning firm.

I would if I had an extra £15,000+ to spend. But I don't!!

no, fair enough, I'm just concerned for your stress levels! This car seems to be worrying you a lot. Hopefully it'll be more than you were expecting when you finally pick it up! And you never know, you might not have the issues that some others do!

Thanks. You are right sometimes using forums can create more problems than they solve, LOL. I'm sure all's well that ends well. Cheers.

The AWD C43 is only better than the C63 for two reasons:

1) You're a woman.

B) You're not skilled enough to handle a RWD.

Chipping a 430 doesn't make it a real AMG.

No, but chipping a C43 AMG does. If AMG put a vehicle together, its an AMG. Cosworth is known for Sierras and ford but they also made an impreza.

If your comment held any value we could say that chipping an impreza doesn't make it a Cosworth......but it does tho :D xx

Ha ha, even a skilled racing driver cannot get better performance (legally) on our roads with rwd - 4 wd means you can put power down sooner in corners so your comment is disallowed.
