Car
CLK320
I own a clk320, and its that time where i need to change the MAS, as at times it loses power and the car starts juddering.
Now i know this part is easy to change so will do it myself.

What i need help with is the fact that german & swedish/ euro car parts are charging £140+VAT
And mercedes charge £210+VAT
On ebay i have seen a company called KSN for £60.
Now i dont think this is an original Bosch part. Will it make a difference to the performance of the car, do you think i should stick to Bosch.

P.s. Euro car parts are now doing one for £48+VAT
This is cheap but not cheap at all if it makes a difference to the performace of my car ......
plesae help

will have some pictures of my car coming up soon, especially the c240 which was fully kitted down to the exhaust like an C43AMG. And now i also have a CLK320 avantgarde...beatufil car

I bought 2 genuine Bosch MAF sensors for £75 each on eBay - brand new so hunt around! Alternatively you can source the actually sensor seperately and install that with security torx bit.

have contacted the company jaymanek has suggested to email me nack and confirm that there product is made by Bosch, if it is then brilliant i will take it. Will keep you updated.
One company on ebay sells them as copys from germany, dont realy fancy putting anything other than the original part especially as it runs the engine and makes a huge difference when it does not work properly

I also got mine from ebay Bosch with numbers.

The last dealership I went to (I hate naming and shaming) suggested that MAS's purchased from places other than Mercedes themselves were sub standard and prone to earlier failure. I pointed out that they forgot to mention "and half the price as well". They continued that the MAS stored fault codes (true), which could lead to the engine not running at 100% if they were not cleared down after the MAS was replaced (WTF?)

I believe it is now a service item on most new Mercs?

Have manage to order a MAS from ebay, Hope it is a Bosch Original. So di i have to get the ecu reset then?

Hi

Anyone got a telephone number for Euro Car Parts??
Thanks

I bought a non genuine MAF (part numbers on it, not the word Bosch) from ebay for £50, it lasted long enough for me to leave positive feedback. Now my car feels down on power, has a stutter at 2800rpm under medium throttle, and the gearchanges aren't very smooth. It's not showing any fault codes, but I'm certain it's the MAF. I've contacted the seller, but surprisingly  , he isn't responding. Short term economy, methinks...

My Euro Car Parts ignition leads and MAS are holding up fine!! All for about a fifth of the cost from Merc. Dont mind changing them every 2 years at that price!!:bannana: :bannana:

I bought a MAF off ebay, non Bosch but only about £50, it was better than the old one I took off, but after a couple of days doing longish motorway trips then hitting heavy traffic, it started playing up, poor gear changes up and down. Even my 14 year old Daughter noticed the car wasnt running as it should!!! I sent it back ( MAF not Daughter) and bought a Bosch from Eurocarparts for £190 ish. Perfect now. I wouldnt recommend anyone buying non branded stuff like this, after all, it can have a huge effect on the driveability of the car.

A quick update to this thread. I bit the bullet and bought a genuine MAF from my local MB dealer, and the car is running perfectly. No stutters, smooth gearchanges, a pleasure to drive again. My advice to anyone considering a non Bosch MAF from ebay is DON'T waste your money. Lesson learnt. I've also replaced the brake pads I bought from ECP with genuine MB ones, and I now have no clonks or squealing, and it stops when the brake pedal is pressed. (which is nice...) :D

Thanks for the update.

It proves my long followed adage, which is buy cheap regret afterwards. OEM all the time for me as anything else is likely to be false economy.;)
