Why is that ? ( a serious question , not a sarcastic comment ) , if they are prepared to warranty it for 3 months .
If it was taken from a car being broken , and not one that was replaced because it was faulty , then wouldn't it be ok ?

It will be at least partially worn out due to age and contamination, add to that, that it's a fragile lectronic component that's been in a smash.
How have they tested it, is there an output graph.?

I agree that a used MAS is less than ideal, but it's got to be worth a tenner to someone who wants a quick fix or spare on the cheap.
I think MB charge silly money for these (£200-300?), but you can get a Bosch replacement much cheaper now I think.

The only reason i posted it was , as you say Will , for a tenner , buy it and bung it in a box in the garage , might get you out of trouble sometime. Save you having to outlay a fair lump of money for a little while.

I know famous (well he is in in Northants ) MB guy who once told me I could have, free, an air mass off any of the a stack of old MB's he has about the place, all I needed to do was get it myself. Onto a good thing here I thought, until he said: "Personally, I wouldn't waste my time" Ah, so I'll be getting a new one then says I. "I would" was the reply.
