As you will see below I have had a rather large fuel leak from the fuel hose near the injectors on my 2011 E Class 250 CDI

I had a whiff of diesel but dismissed it as I was near a fuel station. The pool of fuel under the car however gave the game away !

The split in the hose oddly is on the underside of the rubber hose......the jet of fuel is bouncing off the engine! Pretty scary. Car was driving fine otherwise. Glad it's not petrol!

Part number 690 and 695 ordered

LOL.....took me a while.....but yes I can just about spot that leak!!! :) As you say....just as well its not a petrol. Still going to be a sticky mess to clean off your engine though.

Eventually got round to sorting this but……. The other plastic part the 90 degree hose fits too was brittle and partially broke as I was attempting to replace so…….. what used to be available as a separate part is now NLA and Merc supply a whole assembly as below. Leak off pipes, t piece to metal line. Bit more involved to fit but at least total peace of mind. IMG_8286.jpeg

I am pretty sure thats a retro fitted part. They were done when the car was new.

Not sure what you mean there unfortunately. The online parts finder (via RealOem.com) shows all the individual parts with corresponding part numbers and prices. When I spoke to MB parts the guy knew exactly what I was after and knew that the individual parts and all been superseded with the whole assembly.
In fairness I’m pleased as the plastic / rubber parts are obviously a weakness.

The more I’ve looked at this I’m totally convinced the independent MB specialist who fitted a new rocker cover gasget some time ago has put things back together incorrectly. The metal fuel pipes just don’t look right to me. And the engine cover hasn’t clipped back no to place since.

I wonder if anyone could take a picture of a 2011 250cdi so I can compare as I can’t find one on the web that has the same leak off type part as mine

Thanks in advance !

Sorted today. the complete fresh part as shown above has gone in with fresh clamps where needed at the fuel filter end and the fuel rail end.

Also removed and refitted the metal fuel supply pipes which go from the fuel rail to the injectors which were incorrectly fitted by the so called Mercedes Specialist I used to fit a new rocker cover gasket some months ago.

The engine cover once again fits in place as the fuel pipes and return hoses are now in the correct position.

Lesson learned here. Anyone can call themselves a specialist.
