Hi all,

Has anyone had experience using collinite no 845 sealing their wheels?

Gets a great write-up on many forums and was top of an Auto express group test but I read it gives a glossy finish.

The wheels on my car are the 19" black multi spoke AMG numbers and I think the finish is matte (for sure painted).

Reckon a wheel sealant would be of benefit or will it give a shiny finish?

Collinite is great stuff and I use it on all my cars. For best results, drop the bottle into a pan of hot water before using it. It will then last for ages with great coverage. It should be fine on Matte but I would try a small area first.

I mailed Collinite and got a reply back today.
845 isn't suitable for satin/matte wheels as it'll give them a sheen. They pointed me toward a Dr Beasley's product but I think I'll try Gtechniq C5.

Leaving this information for anyone who searches for this in the future.

Good post Adz87kc, helpful for anyone else having a search.

You could try something like Gyeon Wetcoat (I just posted up about that the other day). That's a spray on/rinse off coating that will work on wheels.

Claims up to 12 weeks protection but even halved it is still impressive considering.

Alternatively, could look into Chemical Guys Wheelguard but not sure how it fairs on matt finishes. I've only used it on normal paint finishes.
