My E Class 250 Coupe is just over 7 years old. Have had one wheel refurbished by diamond cutting. Have lived with the finish on 2 of the wheels peeling away due to really poor quality MB alloys. MB admitted quality no good and 'generously' offered me 50% discount on new wheels a few years ago but the cost was exhorbitant.

Have now decided to refurbish all 4 with powder coating rather than diamond cutting as this should last longer. I like diamond cut but let's face it after 100 yards down the road you can't tell the difference between diamond cut and powder coating!

Car hasn't really missed a beat in it's lifetime, no creaks and is a pleasure to drive, so it's worth getting the wheels looking better and the car seems to be a keeper!
 
It makes such a difference when wheels on a car are refurbished .
Will look well when done.
Can’t stand shabby wheels myself.
 
Beware powder coating on the big hole in the centre of the wheel, it can reduce the ID so they go on but are an absolute pig to remove! Had this happen with my 968 cab, had to use a club hammer and 4x2 - with a lot of swearing - to get the wheels off for the first time a couple of years after they'd been done, despite them having been put on to the correct nut torque. Once off I dremmeled the centre holes (all 4!) to cure the problem.

As chris said ,,Be good if after they are done to put old centre cap on and use wire brush from the rear on centre hole to clean down and Little smear with grease before first fitting
 
Think about a gunmetal grey finish as well as opposed to silver, doesn't show the brake dust so much.

I believe the specialist recommended using the Mercedes grey on the present wheel
 
Job done. Looks good. Any worries I had about powder coating rather than refurbishing as original diamond cut are dispelled!
