Just booked my C55AMG for an 'A' service at MB dealer in Basingstoke
£147 + me providing my own oil.
Also they are proving me with a new C class for the day, can't ask for better than that.

Not bad price for a main mercedes dealer on an AMG service.:thumb:

Hey Greg,
Yes I know, I've used them before, they are very good and decent prices too, on par with some inndie's and in some cases I found them a bit cheaper...

I used them a lot until moving home five years ago. They were always great with the company's cars, but the one service I had done on my CLK there they listed a whole load of advisories that my friendly local guy said were totally unnecessary. Just something to watch out for if the same people are there now.

They are part of the Tony Purslow Group (along with M-B Guildford and M-B Hindhead). I've always had excellent service (and low prices) from Guildford - they are also happy for me to supply the oil for my SL.

My E coupe was serviced a week ago at MB Swindon. They quoted without haggling £150 inc. VAT with me supplying the oil. When I went to pay they said the bill is slightly different to my quote - indeed it was. They said it came to £140 rather than the £150. Particularly honest I thought and told them so! Incidenatlly my local MB franchise where I purchased the car wanted almost £100 more even after a haggle! Mark you they do have a new showroom, or am I being cynical? But for what is little nmore than an oil change!

For those with a new car with COMAND - you will be offered a COMAND update. I was concerned at the possibility of losing my stored destinations in the satnav. The garage wasn't sure so I contacted MB Customer Sevice who fairly quickly informed me that I would only lose those stored destinations where the coordinates had changed. In the event I didn't lose anything. The update takes something like 3 hours - 2 discs to feed in.

I have used the Guildford dealership for both purchase of cars and servicing, and can't fault them.
Having owned various marques, both as company and private cars, I would say they are the best dealership I have used for both sales and service.
Would certainly recommend them.

I always found MB Swindon a top garage to deal with on the servicing and warranty side. Richard always went the extra yard on servicing and John on Warranty was excellent.

£147 is still expensive for an oil filter in my book :D

Just for an FYI, I use a MB Specialist called Pentangle based just outside Southampton. (very local for me) Good bunch of guys, ex main stealer that setup on their own a few years ago.

I have just got off the phone to MB Guildford. The value service pack does include AMG cars but they won't stamp the service book!

Presume you rerfer to Richard Cook. Yes, very good. My previous MB was serviced mainly at Swindon. Shame their best quote for a new car was not as competitive as my local franchise.

tony purslow is now owned by jacksons of poole where i live,i bought my clk 4 years ago from purslow in basingstoke that should tell you what i think of jacksons,i hope they dont ruin purslow

Am I right in believing that because you are supplying your own oil, you are actually paying £147 for an oil filter to be fitted?

Why won't they stamp the service book?

Not sure what they do on an A type service.
I bought Mobil one oil for £55 so it's costing me about £200 all in all.
