Out and about this lunchtime I saw a (metallic blue) VW R32 on the road for the first time.
We had a friendly joust on a quiet bit of road; he was ahead of me waiting to pass someone when I caught up.
We both passed the slower car and enjoyed a few minutes of fun on a B road with good visibility - mostly bends and just a few corners.
The R 32 is FAST, and as you follow it round bends it looks like its on rails. I had a couple of chances to pass him, (bottled it) at times when the road was clear, but we were both accelerating hard - I had to lift off a couple of times (as he changed gear) and that's when I could have pulled out - but I'd have been heading towards the next bend way too fast if I'd risked it.
Having to outbrake someone I don't know into a corner is not where I wanted to be... so I never did get past.
Good fun, no other traffic, and ended with an acknowledgement as we went our different ways.
I came home and looked up the R32, and in terms of value for money, at half the price of a C32 it's an absolute cracker, and is available with new DSG gearbox too!
