I'd like to offer a huge thank you to our member Zenman63 (Ian).
After Ian had pointed me to a source to upgrade my Vito steering wheel centre airbag section to the type with control buttons (shown below),
I had been trying to source a Highline instrument cluster for my Vito and wasn't having much luck.
These units cost around £500 at the main dealer and are soon snapped up when they make a rare appearance on ebay.
Ian was aware I was trying to source the higher spec cluster and when I'd almost given up hope of finding one he sent me THIS link. I know, Ouch!
This enabled me to buy the used unit for £150 all inclusive.
Here it is. It is in perfect condition.
Ian then kindly sent me the part number for the contact spiral needed for the upgraded steering wheel centre to work.
Not content to settle with the enormous help already provided, Ian then offered to make the wiring for me! It arrived earlier today, as promised.
Here it is.
Ian didn't have to do these things, but he did so out of sheer kindness, in the spirit of MB Club.
What a fantastic forum this is, and lets hope it remains this way.
Thank you, Zenman63.
